Alloise-45.jpg

Alloise is a singer and songwriter with a smooth, unique style influenced by her Ukrainian upbringing as well as her love of British culture. She also has a background in DJing, including live performing, acting and radio hosting.

Her father is a musician and choir director, inspiring Alloise to start singing and writing songs since she was very young, with her even having a local radio feature at age 5. From childhood to her teenage years, she often sang in a choir, which has given its own particular influence on her musical style. She began learning piano at Poltava school of arts and continued her musical education at Poltava college of music and Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.

It was at university that Alloise discovered her love for songwriting and began singing and writing with her first band ‘Tomato Jaws’. Then, in 2006, she joined the band ‘Gorchitza’, which became hugely popular both in Ukraine and internationally. The band is considered to be a pioneer of English-written, electronic songs in Ukraine. Some of their most popular songs include ‘Kiss me loneliness’ or the single ‘One New Message’, which was remixed by the popular British band, Apollo 440, in 2008.

In 2012, Alloise began her solo career, where she was able to explore and develop her own style. Since then, she has released 3 albums, “Bygone”, “Episodes” and “Bare Nerve”. These albums have seen much success, including an MTV award for best Ukrainian act in 2012 as well as Bare Nerve being rated Top-5 by the international Aprize Awards Jury. Beyond this, she has also been a judge in Eurovision in 2019 and 2021 and competed in the National competition in 2016. Alloise’s music is a blend of pop and pop-rock whilst having an underlying Ukrainian folk influence. She has always written her songs in English, having a great love for the language and culture.

In March 2022, Alloise had to leave Kyiv and her musical band members behind, who have taken up arms to defend Ukraine. She is now living in London and studying for a DipHE in Music Production at the University of East London.
